Orlando Remodeling Reality

by Keith on December 8, 2010

You almost hate saying it but its true “you get what you pay for.” Especially in today’s economy everyone is looking for a great deal but sometimes it can be too much. While talking to a fellow contract of the industry we started to share some horror stories that we have seen which leads me to “you get what you pay for.” Unlicensed and unethical contractors have influenced the Orlando Remodeling and Orlando Addition market. Yes, everyone is looking for a great deal and you can definitely get one for your project, but beware of “its too good to be true.”  For example, if the average cost of a job is $5000 today you should be able to get it for $4000, not exact number just examples. But if a contractor comes in with $2000 “this is too good to be true.” It comes down to its just not realistic and doesn’t have the customer’s best intentions in mind. Some of the horror stories that we exchanged of Orlando Remodeling projects were contractors coming in at these extremely low figures just to win the job, collect the deposit and never be seen again, or maybe start the job and leave a destroyed project. In a case I heard the contractor, if you even want to call them that, used materials he had picked up during trash day on other jobs, while quoting new materials. There are great deals to be had for your Orlando Remodeling & Orlando Addition project and shouldn’t be afraid to do them, just consider the realistic quotes and research the contractor before you award the project. Protect yourself and your hard earned money. If you have any question or would like a great but fair quote to compare to other quotes please schedule a free estimate with YorMar Construction & Development, Inc.
